Church Without Walls was born in 1997, when fourteen praying people experienced a clear call to love across boundaries and engage the Berkeley community with the love of Jesus.

Today, CWOW is made up of adults and kids and youth who are discovering that “church” is not a building or a program on Sunday morning, but the dynamic and transforming presence of Jesus.  We are continually humbled and awed by God’s love for us, our friends, and our community.

The name “Church Without Walls” describes who we are and who, by God’s grace, we aspire to be.
